Mha Puja is celebrated by the Newar community of Nepal as a New Year's celebration. Eggs, fish, meat, and alcohol boiled in the Sagun are offered. This is believed to mean that a blessing has been given so that one should not be deprived of consuming anything in the water, on the ground, or in the sky. After giving the Sagun, flowers, lava, bread, and yomari are placed on the head, i.e., Ghwalla is performed.After this puja is completed, a communal feast is eaten. 5, 7, or 9 types of dishes are prepared for the feast.म्ह पूजा नेपालका नेवार समुदायले नयाँ वर्षको उत्सवको रूपमा मनाउने गर्दछ। यो चन्द्रमास अनुसार नेपालको राष्ट्रिय चन्द्र पात्रो नेपाल संवतको नयाँ वर्षको दिनमा मनाउने गरिन्छ ।म्ह पूजाको अर्थ म्ह भनेको शरीर अर्थात् शरीरको पुजा हो। यो पर्व नेपाल सम्बतको नयाँ बर्षको दिनमा बर्षभरी स्वस्थ, निरोगी, श्रीब्रिड्डी होस् भनेर घरका सबैभन्दा नाताले ठुलो महिला सदस्यले आफूभन्दा सानालाई आशिर्बाद दिएर मनाउने गरिन्छ।पानी, तेल र अबिर केशरबाट मण्डला बनाएर त्यसमा धान, चामल राखेर कपडाले बनाएको बत्ति बालिन्छ । मण्डला परिवारको प्रत्येक सदस्यको लागि र मृत्युका दुई दूतहरूको लागि पङ्क्तिको अन्त्यमा अतिरिक्त मण्डलाहरू कोरिन्छन्। नंग्लो, कुचो जातो, लोरोको लागि पनि मण्डलाहरू बनाएर पुजा गरिन्छ। मण्डलाले ब्रह्माण्डको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्दछ।टिका लगाई दिएपछि सगुन दिने गरिन्छ। सगुनमा उसिनेको अन्डा, माछा,मासु र रक्सी दिने गरिन्छ। यसको अर्थ पानीमा हुने, जमिनमा हुने र आकाशमा हुने कुनैपनि कुरा सेवन गर्न बन्चित हुन नपरोस भनेर आशिर्बाद दिएको मानिन्छ। सगुन दिएपछि फुल, लावा, रोटि, योमरी राखेर शिरमा राखीदिने अर्थात् घ्वाल्ल गरिन्छ।
यो पुजा सकिएपछी सामुहिक भोज खाने गरिन्छ। भोजमा ५,७वा ९ प्रकारका परिकार तयार पारिन्छ ।
